Imagine being left for dead in a ditch, one arm broken, both of your legs broken in several places, the ball of each hip snapped off and nine broken ribs. You can only move by supporting your weight on your good arm and the broken one. These injuries did not happen from an accident, but were done deliberately over a period of time.
Would you still trust the species that did this to you?
This is what happened to Clover, a bull terrier puppy. She was brought to us at 4 months of age, starving and suffering from these horrific injuries. Vets determined these were done over time, based on the fact that all the fractures had healed at different times. Even after this cruel treatment by a human, she still loves everyone she meets, greeting them with a big, wet kiss. She is now 7 months old and living in her forever home, enjoying the easy life full of love and kindness.
Clover is now able to lead a normal life, thanks to the wonderful team of doctors that repaired her broken body, and to good old fashioned TLC. Even though veterinarians are very good about giving shelters a discounted rate, vet care is still our top animal expense. To enable us to continue caring for those in need of medical care, we have started Clover's Fund. Any donation made to Clover's Fund will be used to provide medical care for shelter animals, giving them a better chance at a normal life. Clover charm bracelets are available at the shelter for $5, all proceeds to benefit her Fund.
