Animal Hero of the Year
Do you know an animal that has shown courage, performed an act of bravery, or overcome staggering odds and survived? We are looking for a special pet to be named our 2008 Animal Hero of the Year.

The dogs at the St. Charles Humane Society will do Whatever It Takes to find loving, forever homes. St. Louis Blues forward David Backes recently visited the St. Charles Humane Society to discuss his plans to promote adoption of some of our harder to place canine residents.
The new program – David’s Dogs – will highlight three dogs each month on the Barkin’ for the Blues segment of the St. Louis Blues website. David’s Dogs of the Month, featuring pictures of David with the dogs, will appear on the jumbotron during the Blues’ home games and in e-mail blasts to Blues fans. The website and e-mail blasts will also profile the needs of the shelter, give pet care tips, and showcase happy endings for David’s Dogs.

Like playing with and caring for puppies and kittens but don't want them to stay with you permanently? How about "borrowing" some of ours?
We need people who would like to be foster parents for some of our animals who aren't ready for adoption yet.

ANNOUNCING ANIMEALS

What is AniMeals?
AniMeals is our food pantry for the pets of individuals on limited incomes. Many people are forced to give up their beloved pets due to unforeseen circumstances changing their income or life, just when then need each other most. We are currently helping approximately 40 families and 100 animals stay together. We feel that this service will help prevent these animals from becoming homeless, allowing us to care for other animals that might not have a chance otherwise.
